Water is often mixed with gasoline, which is one of the biggest problems for car owners. Because gasoline is a hydrocarbon, and water an inorganic substance it is impossible to mix them. The water that is mixed with the station tank on purpose or from the evaporation moisture in the air sinks to its bottom and does not reach your vehicle tank. However, if you find yourself in this situation or suspect it, park your car and call the fuel distribution and service company. Never empty the tank or add fuel to it. If the sample is correct, the fuel company will invoice you for all costs.
Mixing gasoline with water is not a way to make fraudulent gasoline. You can mix solvent-type paint thinners, such as benzene (tolyene), hexane (heptane), and white sprite, with gasoline.
How do you identify fraudulent gasoline?
- You should fill the tank to capacity. Your vehicle was towed to the parking lot and you did not start it for three days. You have cut your gasoline usage in half because of volatile additives in gasoline.
- The vehicle’s sound changes when it is idling. It can become noisy and unhealthy.
- The vehicle will continue to run even if the ignition is turned off.
- The vehicle loses traction and stalls on slopes. Even the smallest obstacle is overcome by the advance.
- Engine knocks and jolts rise.
- Acceleration causes engine power to decrease, and acceleration can cause engine power to accumulate.
- You can calculate the mileage by staying on the road. This means that gasoline will run out more quickly than ever before.
- You can cause the engine to stall if you stop it from moving.
What are the Harms of Bad Fuel Fuel
- Low octane numbers will cause engine malfunctions and propellant to fail.
- It can lead to malfunctions in your carburetor.
- The engine will slow down if there are too many additives in the gasoline.
- Your pocket will suffer financially if your gas runs out quickly.
- It could cause wear, disintegration or even damage to the pistons.

How can you avoid such situations?
- Always buy fuel from the same location if your station is satisfied. You should not switch stations except when absolutely necessary.
- After refuelling, test your vehicle’s performance. If you see anything suspicious, switch your station.
- Calculate the mileage. Change the station if the fuel is being used up more quickly than normal. Compare the performance and mileage of gasoline purchased from different stations. Be sure to drive your vehicle at the same speed when calculating mileage. Fuel will be more expensive if the engine is used aggressively (higher rpm).
- Bad fuel can cause your vehicle to have difficulty climbing uphill, or piling up.
- If you suspect the station, and believe it to be selling poor fuel, please contact the parent company to request that the fuel station be checked.
