What is the P000B fault code? What does it mean
Variable valve timing (VVT), a technology that modern vehicles use to increase fuel efficiency and engine performance, is used in many. This system adjusts camshaft position relative to crankshaft depending on engine operating conditions and desired torque levels. An error code is recorded in your vehicle’s on-board diagnostics when the primary computer of your vehicle detects an issue in the operation or the VVT system. One of these codes are P000B.
The camshaft position sensor information is used by the powertrain control unit (PCM), which uses it to determine the camshaft’s position. This information is compared with data from the crankshaft position sensor to determine if the engine’s timing is correct. The PCM controls solenoid-operated oil control vas to adjust the camshaft positions. The oil control valve adjusts the camshaft angle by applying oil pressure to an actuator located between the camshaft’s timing chain sprocket.
