What is the P0070 fault code? What does it signify?
If the powertrain controller module (PCM), detects a possible problem with the ambient sensor temperature sensor, or the sensor circuit, the fault code P0070 is recorded.
The PCM receives data collected by the ambient air temperature sensor. This data can be used to display the outside temperature or, if needed, to adjust the operation of an automatic climate control system.
The PCM will store the fault code P0070 if the information from the ambient temperature sensor is significantly different to the data from the intake air temperature and engine coolant temperatures sensors.
