What is the P0207 fault code number? What is the Cylinder 7 Injector Circuit Malfunction description? How do you fix the P0207 fault code What are the symptoms and causes for the P0207 fault code

What is the P0207 fault code? What does it signify?

If the powertrain control module, PCM detects an out-of-range voltage/resistance in the fuel injector circuit of cylinder 7, a code P0207 will be set. It indicates an issue with the wiring of the injector, or the injector itself. This code will cause the check engine lamp to illuminate and failsafe mode to activate. This mode will continue until the problem is resolved. P0207 codes can cause engine misfires or rich/lean mixture conditions.

The PCM continuously monitors the fuel injections for malfunctions. The voltage signal should not be below zero when the injector is activated. When the injector turns off, the voltage signal must be high or near battery voltage. The fault code P0207 is set if the PCM doesn’t receive the voltage signal. The circuit resistance is also monitored by the PCM. If the resistance is too high or low, this code will still be set.

This code is very similar to P0202,P0201 and P0202, as well the P0204/P0205, P0204/P0205, p0206 and p0208 fault codes.

What is the P0207 Fault Code?

You can trigger the P0207 code fault code for many reasons. The following are some possible causes:

  • – Clogged or dirty number 7 cylinder fuel injection
  • Circuit problems with the wiring and connectors to fuel injector (such damaged wiring, loose connectors or corroded connectors or open or short circuits).
  • – A PCM that is not working or requires a software upgrade

Fuel injectors become dirty over time. They are susceptible to failure after 150,000 km. Sometimes, cleaning the injectors can be a good idea and help prevent future problems.

What are the symptoms of the P0207 Fault Code?

You may experience the following symptoms if your vehicle has the code P0207.

  • – Illumination for the check engine light
  • – Engine misfires
  • Engine stalling
  • Engine running erratically, or not at all
  • – Engine can run in either rich or lean conditions
  • – An increase in fuel consumption
  • – Insufficient power for sudden acceleration
  • – Fluctuations of idle speed
  • – Enables PCM failsafe mode

How do I fix the P0207 fault code?

The following repairs may be able to resolve the P0207 fault code:

  • – Check the resistance of the fuel injection in cylinder number 7. If it is not working properly, replace it.
  • – Repair of fuel injector wires, connectors and open or short circuits
  • – Replacing PCM

How serious is the P0207 fault code?

P0207 is a serious problem as it can cause an engine to misfire or stall, and then run erratically. Injector problems can cause many problems. It is important to address the code quickly and fix it in order to prevent engine failures.
