What is P0210 fault code and what does it mean? What is the Cylinder 10 Injector Circuit Malfunction description? How can you fix P0210 fault codes? What are the causes and symptoms of the P0210 error code?

What is the P0210 Fault code? What does it all mean?

If the powertrain control module, PCM detects an out-of-range voltage/resistance in the cylinder 10 fuel injection circuit, a code P0210 will be set. It indicates an issue with the injector’s wiring. This code will cause the check engine lamp to illuminate and failsafe mode to activate. This mode will continue until the problem is resolved. A P0210 code could cause engine misfires, rich or poor mixture conditions.

The PCM monitors fuel injectors constantly for any malfunctions. The voltage signal should be near or low when the injector activates. When the injector has been turned off, the voltage signal must be at least equal to the battery voltage. The fault code P0210 is issued if the PCM doesn’t receive the voltage signal. The circuit resistance is also monitored by the PCM. If the resistance becomes too low or too high, this code will still apply.

This code is identical to P0202,P0201 and P0204. It also appears in P0205,P0204,P0206,P0205,P0206,P0207,P0206,P0207,P0208,P0209,P0209,P0211,P0212 codes.

What causes the P0210 Fault code?

There are many reasons why the P0210 fault code may be activated. The following are some possible causes:

  • – Number 10 cylinder fuel injector clogged, dirty, or defective
  • Circuit problems in wiring and connectors to the fuel injection (e.g. damaged wiring, loose, corroded or open connectors, short circuits, etc.
  • – A PCM that is not working or requires a software upgrade

Fuel injectors can get dirty and eventually fail after 150,000 km. Sometimes, cleaning the injectors can be a good idea and help prevent future problems.

What are the symptoms for P0210 Malfunction Codes?

You may experience the following symptoms if your vehicle has the code P0210.

  • – Illumination for check engine light
  • Engine misfires
  • Engine stalling
  • Engine running erratically, or not at all
  • – Engine can run in either rich or lean conditions
  • – Increased fuel consumption
  • – Sudden acceleration without power
  • – Fluctuations of idle speed
  • – Enables PCM failsafe mode

How to Fix the P0210 Fault Code

The following repairs may be able to resolve the P0210 fault code:

  • – Replace the fuel injector in cylinder 10 if it is not working properly.
  • – Repair of wires, connectors or open circuits to fuel injectors
  • – Replacing PCM

How serious is the P0210 Fault code?

P0210 is a serious problem as it can cause an engine to misfire or stall, and then run erratically. Along with poor or high operating conditions, a faulty injector can cause many problems. It is important to address the code quickly and fix it in order to avoid failure of engine components.
