What is the P0316 fault number? What is the description for Engine Misfire Detected at Startup (First 1000 rpms)? How do you fix the fault code P0316? What are the causes and symptoms of the P0316 error code?

What is the P0316 fault code? What does it signify?

A P0316 fault code is triggered if the primary computer of the vehicle (PCM/ECM/ECU) detects misfires in any one or more cylinders within the first 1,000 revolutions.

To prevent engine damage, the PCM can disable misfiring cylinders. P0316 code is often recorded with one or more P0300 series fault codes that are associated with misfired cylinder(s).

Other fault codes that relate to P0316 include P0300,P0302,P0302,P0302,P0302,P03032,P0302,P0302,P03032,P03034,P03034,P0304 & P0305 & P0306,P0305 & P0306,P0307,P0306 – P0307,P0308,P0309,P0309,P0310,P0311 –0311,P03112, P0311,P03112, P03112371 –0311,P03112, P0311,P0311,P03112, P0312

If cylinder 1 experiences a misfire more than once, fault code 0301 will be triggered. The affected cylinder will be identified by the fault code’s last two digits. You must also diagnose and repair any other misfire fault codes first.
