What is the P2006 fault number? What is the description of Intake Manifold Control Of Stuck (Bank 1)? How do I fix P2006 fault code What are the symptoms and causes for the P2006 fault code

What is the P2006 Fault code? What does it signify?

Intake manifold flow control system (IMRC), plays an important role in managing engine airflow. By opening and closing the butterfly valves within the intake manifold, it can improve engine performance and efficiency. P2006 is one of the fault codes that the powertrain control module will detect if there is a problem with the system.

The PCM monitors the operation and status of the intake manifold flow controller (IMRC). The metal blades of each cylinder fit snugly into the inlet port. The electronic flow control solenoid opens and closes these vanes to adjust the airflow to intake manifold. All wings will become useless if one of the wings becomes stuck. “Bank 1”, which indicates an engine cylinder 1 fault, means there is an issue.

Similar fault codes include P2005 and P2007 as well as P2008, 2009, 2010, P2010, and 2015

What causes the P2006 Fault Code

  • – Defective intake control valve
  • Sensor for the position of the intake manifold’s flow sensor
  • – IMRC solenoid control circuit: Open or closed
  • – Carbon buildup at IMRC vanes and intake manifold ports
  • – Defective MAP sensor
  • – Restricted vacuum lines
  • – Defective PCM

What are the symptoms of the P2006 Fault Code?

  • – Illumination for check engine light
  • – Engine hesitation during acceleration
  • – Inconsistent idle speed
  • – Exhaust fuel is the raw fuel
  • – Increased fuel use

How to Fix the P2006 Fault Code

  • Repair of shorted, damaged or broken wiring harness
  • Repairing loose or corrosion-prone connectors
  • – Carbon deposits are removed from the intake manifold
  • – Replacing flow control valve on intake manifold
  • – Replacing flow sensor for intake manifold

How serious is the P2006 Fault code?

If code P2006 is not treated promptly, it can lead to serious symptoms. If the intake manifold flow valves fail, engine damage may occur.
