What is the P2127 Fault Code and what does it mean? What does it all mean?
When the powertrain control module, PCM detects an unusually low voltage signal coming from the throttle/pedal location sensor or switch, a code P2127 will be triggered. The description of the code includes the “E” symbol, which refers specifically to a circuit or sensor. You can refer to your vehicle’s specific repair manual to identify the “E”, circuit or sensor.
The electronic throttle control system, or ECTS, controls the opening of the throttle valve. Two position sensors are required to open the throttle on vehicles equipped with this equipment. A sensor is attached at the accelerator pedal. The internal resistance of this sensor changes depending on whether the pedal is released or pressed. The PCM receives the voltage signal and controls an electric motor. This motor opens or closes the throttle plate according to how much power is required.
