What is the U0102 fault code What is the description of Lost Communication with Transfer Box Control Module’s (TCCM) failure How do you fix U0102 fault codes? What are the causes and symptoms of the U0102 error code ?….?
What is U0102 Fault Coding? What does it signify?
The automotive industry’s most common circuit for control modules and other electronic parts to communicate is the. “Controller Area Network (CAN)” bus. The manufacturer will pre-programme the data to be sent to the modules. Operating information and commands can also be exchanged via CAN bus.
Two special copper wires called “CAN High” (High) “CAN Low” These cables are used to communicate (lower). They come in different colors. The black wire is the highest, while the orange-brown one is the lowest. When there is no data transmission, both wires have 2.5V. Data transmission creates a 2.5V difference between them. The high priority line rises up to 3.75V and low priority line falls to 1.25V. The voltage difference between two bus lines is the basis of communication.
When the Transfer Box Control module (TCM) and other modules on the vehicle are unable to communicate, U0102 is set.
The U0102 fault code can affect vehicles of all makes and models, including but not limited to: Chevrolet, BMW, Dodge Ram, GMC, Peugeot Audi, Cadillac Ford, Mazda, Nissan, Mazda, Mazda, and Nissan.
What causes the U0102 Fault code?
Below are some reasons why U0102 should be assigned:
- – The wires are damaged, melted, broken, or corroded, which can cause an open or brief circuit in the bus.
- – Poor electricity due to open or short circuit problems in wiring to the TCCM, or loose connections
- – Broken or bent pins on TCCM sockets
- – Blown Fuses
- – Defective TCCM (rarely)
What are the symptoms for U0102’s Fault Code?
You may experience the following symptoms if your vehicle has the U0102 code:
- – Illumination at the check engine lights
- Warning lights for 4WD/AWD/TCCM are always on or flashing
- – Transmission stuck at any gear
- – The transmission will not shift to neutral (Neutral), gear
- – Other fault codes can be set
How do I fix the U0102 fault code?
The following repairs can help resolve the U0102 fault code
- – Repair and replacement of damaged, melted or corroded wires that cause an opening or short circuit on CAN bus
- – Repair or replacement for damaged, melted and corroded wires that are connected to TCCM causing open circuits or short circuits
- – Replacing blownfuses
- – Cleaning corrosion on TCCM connectors
- Repair bent or broken pins
- – Replacing the faulty TCCM
How Serious Is the U0102 Fault Code
If this code is set, it means that your vehicle faces a serious problem. U0102 could cause your transmission to stop shifting, get stuck in any gear or not to shift from neutral. The vehicle can’t be driven in this situation so it must be fixed as soon as possible.
