What is Timing Chain Tensioner?
The majority of high displacement engines are equipped with a timing chains embedded within the engine. You must first understand the timing chains before you can understand their role. The engine has a crankshaft as well as one or more camshafts. The crankshaft connects to the piston rod assembly and piston assemblies. The intake and exhaust valves, on the other hand, are driven by the camshaft(s).
The valves have to open and close at the same time that the pistons are in the right place. The crankshaft and camshaft(s), must function synchronized.
