What is AFR setting? How does it work? What is the AFR setting? What is the AFR setting? What should be considered when installing LPG?

Actually, AFR is a word that was derived from English. At the beginning of the AFR, “A” stands for Air, “F” stands for Fuel, “R” stands for Ratio. The acronyms for the initials of the Air Fuel Ratio are used to describe the AFR. Turkish abbreviation is “Air Fuel Ratio”. It’s the term that measures the ratio of air and fuel in an engine. A gasoline-powered vehicle should have a 14.7-to-1 ratio for air-fuel mixture. This indicates that an air-fuel combination engine has good health. The diagram below shows the AFR ratios for other fuel types.

Oil 14.7:1

Diesel 14.6:1

Methanol 6.4.1

Ethanol 9.1

LPG 15.5.1

The rates shown above are indicative rates. Rates can vary depending on the vehicle.

Although most websites are aware of the AFR setting and constantly refer to it, they often overlook the important stages that precede the AFR. These are the important points.

  • * Mastery
  • * Assembly
  • * First setting (divided into 3 in itself)
  • * Path setting
  • * It must be in the form of AFR setting.

Each one of these rings is essential for LPG vehicles’ performance, fuel consumption, and engine health. These rings can be used to complete a vehicle that uses LPG. These masters think they are making adjustments to cars with poor assembly quality. They then go to the back and adjust their salaries and wallets with the fees they will get. After the AFR adjustment, which was not measured or consciously done, there will be no performance difference in the vehicle. The customer will realize that this is just a tuning game and not a way to make money.

Mastery

The master must know which LPG kits to fit on the vehicle.

Mastery is the first requirement in AFR adjustment. Who is the master competent?

Qualified people who have worked in LPG conversion services for many years, have command of all known domestic and imported LPG kits, have gained experience in this field, have done R&D within their own body. Masters are those who can combine this experience with the reactions to LPG kits from vehicles of different models and brands.

One example is a Toyota Corolla owner who came to us to ask for LPG kits to be installed on his Toyota Corolla because of rising gasoline prices. A competent businessman must first disclose all information to the customer. Instead of focusing on the LPG brand or model it sells, the company should offer the most compatible kits in terms engine structure. Here’s the key point. These are the key points to remember. master; The car’s VVT-I, dual-Matic engine construction, the on-off microsecond of the original gas injector, and the engine power need to be considered. For this reason, an experienced LPG master must have the same knowledge as an experienced engine master about the engines of the vehicles. For instance, he should be able to recognize that certain brands such as BMW and Peugeot have engines without map pressure. Jaguar has three engines, Toyota has two, and some new Honda and Mercedes brands have assembly sensitivities. The list of vehicles models that are exemplified by this model goes on. Mastery is what is needed to master this list. It’s not enough to just go to the back, attach the AFR device to your right door glass, and then broadcast live via social media to appear to be making adjustments. In this business, there is a process, an etiquette, and a method. At the end, I’ll touch on social media.

Assembly

Pre-installation check

a) Before the vehicles can be assembled, they must be connected with the diagnostic device.

b) Vehicles with TSI, GDI or sequentially defective parts should not be assembled until the part has been changed.

The master, an expert in his area, will determine the length of the hoses leading to the injectors and the diameter of the nozzles. For example, if a 200-horsepower vehicle is given a 1.8 nozzle, it will glide on asphalt like a cat with its nails cut. The vehicle will not be able to catch a 125 horsepower vehicle on LPG, just as the cat with its nails cut cannot catch a mouse. Most of the companies that are well-known on social media and the market have an understair LPG master model. The vehicle is fully compatible with LPG and has a stunning assembly. No. You can enter the first setting.

Initial Setting

The first part of the setting should be done in three steps.

Idling

In engines with 1.6 or less, the regulator pressure should be at least 1 bar. Although it is rare, the regulator pressure can be reduced to 0.90 for small engines. If the engine is a standard one, it should be maintained at 1 bar. Then automatic calibration should be initiated. We should verify that the automatic calibration has been done correctly. This will allow us to assume that the vehicle’s fan motor is not in use while it is receiving gasoline values. The software read the values and switched the vehicle to gas. While the gas values were being adjusted, the fan engine started. This will cause the milliseconds not to be what we desire. We should verify the calibration results at the end and adjust the milliseconds, if needed. The OBD DEVICE can also be used to control the fast fuel cutoff values in gasoline or gas. The vehicle should not be rich or poor by setting the fast fuel cut parameter to zero.

Notice: LPG kits may have different Regulator pressures.

Load setting

The probe will blow the cold windshield while the air conditioner turns on. The headlights must be on high. All other loads (except the tape and quad) must be turned on at least one millisecond faster than the normal millisecond. Also, the millisecond that the vehicle takes to switch to LPG should again be checked and adjusted if it is different. Also, once the milliseconds in the load are equalized with those in the idle, it is advisable to use the OBD DEVICE to control the vehicle.

Reference controls for the Bottom Gas Map

We fuel the vehicle. The vehicle is refueled three times. We throttle three times, then we throttle three more times. Finally, we throttle three times again and provide Map reference control. As you can see from the title, we do this because we take note of the number of revolutions that the vehicle makes between 3000 and 6600 revolutions and the gasoline injection values. We also keep track how long each revolution takes. If there are any differences, we copy the top/meta data and take notes. We do the same thing at idle and load, but we also equalize the milliseconds in between revolutions. It is now that you are ready to leave.

Setting a path (Closed Loop).

There are any areas where we should make adjustments to our gasoline and gas control at take-off.

The vehicle should run on gasoline at all gears and revolutions on the flat road. However, it is important to check the OBD device for the vehicle’s fuel cut-off values and make any necessary adjustments. All of these applications can be used for automatic transmission, too.

Driving on a steep slope is advisable. Keep the engine loaded constant throughout all gears and revolutions.

Cruise control, or as it is known in other languages, Cruise Control, should not be used. You should keep your foot planted on the pedal. Compare the petrol inject time that you see when you are using gasoline with the petrol inject time that you will see when you use gas. It is important to compare the gasoline injection rate you see when your vehicle is on gasoline with the gasoline injection time that you will see when it runs on gas.

Notice: The settings that we have described above can be modified according to the LPG Kits Map reference.

Open Loop is the part that we use the AFR device.

Revs. is where the AFR device can be used. Column 5000 to 6000 cycles are used. The ms column uses time errors between 14-18 minutes. These settings are applicable to normal motor vehicles.

Turbo etc. All engine configurations can be customized.

It is clear from all of this that LPG adjustment and installation are not easy. This is because it requires both experience and knowledge. A top-quality fabric cannot be sold in flea markets if it is not tailored properly. However, a middle quality product can be sold in chain stores if the thesis is competent.

Whether it is ATİKER, BRC, LOVATO, KTM or PRINS etc. get a quality product. Skilled hands are essential to ensure that you get the best efficiency, optimal engine performance, and good engine health with LPG.

The vehicle’s operating conditions, not the driver’s high torque/power (i.e. The electronic management of gasoline injection is often performed by pressing the accelerator pedal instead of the driver pushing the accelerator pedal. High rates of gasoline and LPG use can be caused by gasoline becoming a more complex mixture. (30%). This is where the lambda oxygen sensor is useful. It will usually indicate that the mixture of air and fuel is rich, but it cannot provide information to ECU about HOW rich.

This means that the ECU is unable to take these signals into account in order to continually correct the injection times and cannot continue operating in CLOSED-LOOP. It still functions in an ON loop. Switching to the Open Loop loop serves to limit the enrichment of the petrol setup so that it can work in the Open Loop. Although 30% enrichment is the best for gasoline operation it can make it difficult to use CNG and LPG, and even worse for gas. Rich mixtures of CNG and LPG do not burn well, which causes the engine’s performance to suffer and make it creak when driving. Open Loop strategy working principle. Open loop section independently calculates the fuel amount and dose required to achieve the maximum enrichment possible. If the gasoline ECU needs a greater enrichment than that of the calibrated, it will be supplied in gas mode with only a small amount of gas (the calibrated). The limit on the amount of petrol that the strategy allows will not apply to the petrol ECU. Instead, the maximum amount of gasoline will be injected if the ECU requires less petrol.

The rich mix in the open loop section should be calibrated as follows: With the Wideband AFR sensor installed in a vehicle equipped with the appropriate equipment, editing can be performed on the Map map. If the adjustment is correct the open loop settings are copied to LPG values using the gasoline reference data.
