What is an ECU? What is ECU?

The ECU controls all engine management and controls. It constantly monitors the operating conditions of your motor and calculates the parameters. All these adjustments take place hundreds of times in a second, taking into account the engine's load, speed, environmental variables (air temperature, air density, engine temperature, barometric pressure, etc.). These measurements can be made possible by thousands of sensors within the engine, with a deviation of just one billionth of variables like pressure, temperature and revolution, speed, density, etc.

These microcomputers run an EPROM chip-enabled program. These values are detected by the ECU, which then locates the appropriate values from the EPROM map and calculates and applies variables like ignition timing, optimal fuel amount, turbo pressure, and emission values. These processes occur in less than a millisecond.

ECU (Engine Control Unit), is located in either the engine compartment or the passenger compartment. It is smaller than a car radio. This compact device has multiple microcomputers, and allows for the most efficient management of engine performance under changing conditions.
