What is the P013C error code? What is the O2 sensor slow response – rich to poor (Bank 2 Sensor 2) fault description. How can you fix P013C? What are the causes and symptoms of the P013C error code?

What is P013C Fault Coding? What does it signify?

Code P013C will be set if the PCM detects the downstream oxygen sensor (Sensor 2) after the catalytic convert is taking longer to go from rich, high voltage to lean (lower Voltage). “Bank 2” refers to the opposite engine bank and does not include the engine’s number one cylinder.

The PCM communicates with oxygen sensors using electrical signals. The oxygen content in the exhaust will determine the frequency of these electrical signals. This information is used by PCM to determine whether an engine is running too much or little fuel. The voltage signal will decrease if there is more oxygen in the exhaust. This means that the vehicle is running in a lean mixture. If the oxygen level in the exhaust is low the voltage signal will rise. This is a sign that the tool runs in a rich mixture.

To calculate the amount of fuel to send to an engine, the PCM uses data from upstream oxygen sensors before the catalyst. To determine the efficiency of a catalytic converter, it first uses the signal from a downstream sensor (after catalyst). If the PCM detects a slow response from the sensor, a P013C fault is generated.

The P013C fault code can affect vehicles of all makes and models, including Jeep (especially Grand Cherokee), Chevrolets, Fords, Dodge, Chrysler, Fords, Dodge, Toyota, Honda, GMC, and Volkswagen.

Other fault codes could also be recorded, depending on how severe the situation is. These codes include P013A and P013B as well as P014C,P014D,P014D,P014D,P014E, P014F, and P014F.

What is the P013C Fault code?

Here are some reasons why P013C should be set.

  • – Defective oxygen sensor (Bank 2 Sensor 2)
  • – Connector and wiring issues in the O2 sensor circuit
  • – Defective catalyst converter
  • – Leakage of the exhaust system
  • – Defective PCM

What are the symptoms for the P013C Fault Code?

You may experience the following symptoms if your vehicle has a P013C Code:

  • – Illumination for check engine light
  • – Low engine performance
  • – Increased fuel use
  • – Triggering related fault codes

How do I fix the P013C fault code?

Repair all engine misfire codes and throttle position sensor codes. A poorly functioning engine can cause hidden codes to appear.

  • – Replacing the defective oxygen sensor (Bank 2 Sensor 2).
  • Troubleshooting O2 sensor circuit
  • Correct reattachment
  • Repair of shorted or open cables
  • – Replacing the fuse on the O2 sensor circuit heater circuit
  • – Replacing PCM
  • – Replacing catalytic convertor
