What is P0244 fault code and what does it mean? What is the Turbocharger Wastegate Control Valve A Circuit Range/Performance Problem? How do you fix the P0244 fault code What are the causes of P0244 fault code symptoms?
What is the P0244 Fault code? What does it signify?
A code P0244 is triggered when the engine control module, ECM or PCM detects a performance issue in the turbocharger wastegate A circuit or determines that the voltage signal coming from this circuit may be out of range.
The ECM/PCM controls turbo pressure by monitoring the output of the wastegate solenoid (on petrol or diesel engines). The ECM/PCM adjusts the wastegate valve continuously, to varying degrees, taking into consideration engine speed and throttle. This ensures that the turbo pressure remains at the optimal levels. The ECM/PCM will set a P0244 error code if it detects an unspecified voltage at the wastegate controller solenoid. In twin turbos circuit “A”, refers to a primary solenoid. There will be more than one control solenoid.
P0244 fault codes are found in vehicles made by Ford, Mercedes Benz and Subaru.
What is the P0244 Fault Code?
Below are some reasons to set fault code P0244:
- – Corroded, damaged, burnt, disconnected, or disconnected wiring and connectors in circuit B of the wastegate solenoid.
- – Defective boost pressure control solenoid A
- – Defective turbo pressure sensor
- – Defective wastegate controller
- – Defective or stuck Wastegate
- – Leakage, defect or dislodgment of the solenoid boost control vacuum hoses
- – Low probability of ECM/PCM defective ECM/PCM
What are the symptoms of the P0244 Fault Code?
These symptoms may be present in vehicles with code P0244.
- – Illumination at the check engine lights
- – The instrument panel can display a warning message
- Turbo might not be managed effectively
- – Lower engine performance
- – Acceleration loss of power
How do I fix the P0244 fault code?
The following repairs may be able to resolve the P0244 fault code:
- – Replacing a faulty wastegate solenoid Val
- – Repairing and replacing damaged or corroded connectors and cables
- – Removing stuck or faulty wastegates
- Repair vacuum hose leakages
How serious is the P0244 Fault code?
If the wastegate solenoid has a problem and is not able to fully close it, the engine might stop running properly or stall due to excess turbo pressure.
