What is the P0881 Fault code? What does it all mean?
The engine should be started when the key is turned. “On” Position, the powertrain controller module (PCM), performs a system inspection. The PCM checks the voltage in the transmission circuit and makes sure that the transmission controller module (TCM), is powered up if it is.
A computer that monitors and controls the operation of the transmission is called the transmission control module (TCM). It can either be integrated into the PCM, or it can stand alone depending on the manufacturer. The TCM, like many control modules receive input signals from switches and sensors.
