What is the P2104 fault codes? What is the Throttle Actuator Control System Forcible Idle Failure? How do you fix the P2104 fault code What are the causes and symptoms of the P2104 error code?
What is the P2104 Fault Code and what does it mean? What does it signify?
Fault code P2104 stands for “Throttle Actuator Controller System – Forced Idle”. Electronic throttle control (ETC), system. It consists of sensors for accelerator pedal position (APP), throttle position (TP), and an electronics control unit.
The driver can depress the accelerator pedal to send an APP signal to the PCM letting them know the amount of power they require. The ETC system controls the opening and closing of the throttle valve according to the required amount. Fault code P2104 will be triggered if the PCM detects an unusual signal from any ETC system component. This code can also be set if the signal from the APP sensor and the throttle valve opening rates are inconsistent.
P2104 is activated, the vehicle goes into failsafe mode. Engine power is restricted to 1200-1600 rpm. The engine does not respond to the driver’s pressing of the accelerator pedal. The cruise control system can also be disabled.
P2104 fault codes can be found on vehicles made by Ford, Hyundai and GM.
