What is the P2110 fault number? What is the Throttle Actuator Control System (TAC) – Forced Limited Reported PPM failure description? How to fix P2110 fault codes? What are the symptoms and causes for the P2110 fault code

What is the P2110 fault code? What does it all mean?

Code P2110 means that there is a problem with the throttle actuator control system of your vehicle. This code is activated when the powertrain management module (PCM), detects a possible problem with the electronic throttle controller system (ECTS).

The throttle opening can be controlled via ECTS. The PCM receives an indication from the accelerator pedal position sensor (APP) when the accelerator pedal is depressed. This signal tells the PCM how much power the engine should produce. The PCM then tells the throttle plate that it should open in accordance with its instructions. It monitors the voltage signal from a throttle position sensor to verify that the throttle plate opens correctly.

Code P2110 will be set if the PCM detects that a throttle plate is not properly opening. This code puts the vehicle into failsafe mode and limits the throttle actuator control system’s operation. This mode limits the engine’s speed and power to protect the vehicle.

The P2110 fault code can affect vehicles of all makes and models, including but not limited to Ford, Dodge, Jeep Hyundai, Lincoln, Cadillacs, Volvo, Chrysler, Fiat Chrysler, Fiat Kia, Mazda, and Chevrolet.

What is the P2110 Fault Code and Why Does It Happen?

Here are some reasons why P2110 should be set.

  • Faulty assembly of the accelerator pedal position
  • – Defective throttle actuator motor control motor
  • – Open or Short in Wiring to the Throttle Actuator Control Module
  • – Bad electrical connections at throttle actuator control module
  • – A PCM that is not working properly or requires a software upgrade (rarely).

What are the symptoms of the P2110 Fault Code?

These symptoms may be present if you own a vehicle that has the code 2110.

  • – Illumination for check engine light
  • ABS light on
  • – The vehicle will enter failsafe mode and the engine’s speed (RPM), will be restricted
  • – The engine might not start even though it cranks.
  • – The engine cannot run at idle
  • – Very little or no throttle response
  • – An automatic transmission might not shift gears
  • – You can also set other fault codes

How to Fix the P2110 Fault Code

Note: P2110 codes should be checked and repaired first if there are any other codes. P2110 can be caused by other faults and related codes.

There are several repairs that can resolve the P2110 fault code.

  • Repair of the throttle actuator control system
  • – Clean the dirty throttle
  • – Repair of broken wires, connectors and poor electrical connections that can cause an open or brief circuit
  • – Reprogramming the PCM or replacing it
