The carburetor in its simplest definition is the part which evaporates the fuel in the detonation engine and mixes it in with air before sending it to the combustion chamber.

It is used in older type gasoline engines. This technology is not used in newer engines. The cylinders are sent the air-fuel mixture from the carburetor. Sometimes, the homogeneous mixture is not available in sufficient quantities to be sent to all cylinders. This can cause vehicles to lose performance. New generation engines have injection systems as an alternative to the carburetor.

Carburetor Working Principle

The carburetor turns the fuel into liquid granules as the engine draws in air. It then allows the fuel to evaporate. The throttle and venturi, which is a shrinking section, adjust the air-fuel mixture ratio. This section speeds up the air flow and decreases the pressure. This physics rule means that fuel is absorbed. The ratio of fuel to air mixture is 1/15. However, the engine must be able to run in cold conditions and have a rich mixture. The throttle at the venturi determines the air-fuel mixture ratio. It can be opened to increase the fuel intake. The mixture is sent to the cylinders by the carburetor and ignited with the spark from the spark plug nails.

Carburetors must be maintained at 40-50kilometres. Also, it is important to keep your car’s carburetors in good condition. You will see an increase in fuel consumption and a decrease in vehicle performance.
